A little taste of Jasper

Here are some of the shots I got while driving through Jasper last week.  I came across a couple different animals, ones I was not able to see in the Okanagan. I missed being able to drive through Jasper and being able to see the beauty of it as well as the animals.

Here are just a few shots, enjoy!

Another trip home

Its been a while since I made a post. I’ve been so busy with my new part time job I don’t even have the time to do what I love most, photography.

That all changed after the fact that I booked some days off and headed home for a visit. During my travels I drove though the beautiful town of Jasper. The past few time I had driven through I wasn’t able to see very many animals, but this time I lucked out.

I was able to see many animals this time as well as something I was hoping not to see for another month, snow.

Well that’s the update for now, I should have my Jasper photographs up soon!

Take care,

Katelyn  Bow

A big thanks

I must say this is well over due but I finally have the time to sit here and write a little something.

This past year I have learnt a lot. Not only on the photography side of things but as well as the life side. I know for  a fact that even though life may come in the way of things but I know I will always have my family there for me.

I want to send a big thank you to my Mom and my Dad for always being there for me, for pushing me to do my best and follow my dreams. Without them I would not have been able to accomplish this. I appreciate everything they have done for me and will always do.

I want to thank my brother for always sending me words of advice and reminding me how much he is proud of me. I love him for doing that.

I want to thank my boyfriend, Taylor, for always being there and supporting me. And for also going on all the adventures with me to do my photo essay haha, as well as being my model.

No matter what life throws at me I have the most important people in my life reminding me that I can do it. Thanks guys for all the support this year and helping me live my dream. For that, here is a reminder through a tattoo I got and my Mom got a matching one. :)

Just another cloudy day

Before my finals of school, I photographed a lovely couple and their dog. They wanted their photographs overlooking some of the beautiful lakes in the Okanagan, so I took my “Putt Putt” (my car) off-roading. The weather wasn’t the greatest, but I worked with what I had. Kelly, her husband and dog were a pleasure to work with and I hope to hear from them in the future! Enjoy!

Sneak Peek!

This weekend I had the opportunity to photograph a wedding as a second shooter with Ceiligh Duncan (Ceiligh Duncan Photography). It was my first wedding and I was a little nervous at first but am satisfied with the outcome of my shots. Here are just a few  images. Enjoy!

A day at the Beach

Last week I had the opportunity to do a photo shoot at the beach with some models. I was more interested in working with couples because I hope to photograph them more often. I also had the chance to use a new lens, and now I want it :P . Here are some of my favorite shots of the day, Enjoy!

Something new

I decided to broaden my horizons and have been working on photographing people more often. I don’t have access to very many people since I’m not from around here so my boyfriend kindly volunteered. I have been learning a lot and have become more comfortable with my external flash. I like the concept of shooting outside, but I’ve always had the issues of shadows so I’ve been using my external flash and I am enjoying it. Here are a few shots of my boyfriend. Enjoy!
